SYNTHESiST Completes Migration to Magazine Theme 214.0

Fifteen months from its first post, SYNTHESiST completed the first phase of its migration to the Magazine theme.

The migration supports many purposes. The foremost is to create a rich conversation within a community of like-minded people on the domain of innovation systems and change management for emerging markets.

SYNTHESiST becomes a content management system composed of two parts: a website and a blog.

The website will have Pages that are, by definition, less dynamic than the blog posts.

Their are four Pages: innovation systems, change management, emerging markets and change leaders. Maybe, they can be the core of an e-book.

Alexa Top Ten Websites as of today, May 23, 2010. Compared to our first compilation of the Philippine Alexa Top Ten three months ago, the major change is the movement of most up the global rank even as most stayed in the same order in the Philippines.

The Comelec came into the top ten as a consequence of the elections pushing out Cebu Pacific but is expected to recede back in the next quarter report.

Alexa, Philippine Top Ten Websites on May 23, 2010

Market Manila, a food blog, has rapidly ascended to the global Alexa Rank of 60,927 (Google PageRank 5/10)  The Daily PCIJ, a news blog, is ranked at 213,036 (PR 5/10).  The Professional Heckler, a twice-awarded humor and entertainment blog, has a global rank, today, of 388,125 (PR 4/10).  SYNTHESiST has an Alexa rank of 445,088 (PR 4/10) today.

Specific purposes of migration. Beyond the foremost purpose above, the migration supports many purposes:

  1. Together with clearer scope of content from a break down of its target domain – innovation systems and change management for emerging markets, better readability and stickiness is the key goal.
  2. The Magazine theme on which the migration is based allows search engine optimization (SEO) by design. Many keywords supporting the broad domain can be located in the home page allowing quick access by the crawlers. This facilitates the back linking work of standard SEO.
  3. With better content and search engine optimization, I hope to raise readership rank in Alexa and Google PageRank. The target benchmarks are given in a paragraph above.
  4. The Magazine theme allows better presentation for a richer conversation including multi-authorship of blog posts.  Possibly, two writers have expressed interest to contribute.  Hopefully this starts the creation of community.
  5. The wider layout of the Magazine theme lead to space for Ads and monetization while improving readability.
  6. The shallow depth of the Magazine theme design provides opportunity for conversion though I am still working out the offer and its package in SYNTHESiST.  LOL! The Page tabs (as well as the Blog category tabs) allow two levels of indention in sub-categories, just within the ideal maximum of three clicks from home in good search engine optimization.
  7. Finally, the Magazine theme will open a lot of opportunities within its disciplined structure.

As we say in Poker, the list show a lot of outs and makes for a good bet of, “ALL IN!”
